  • 2 cups of buttermilk
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper optional for heat
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken:

  • Soak the chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) to tenderize the meat and enhance flavor.

Prepare the Coating:

  • Combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne, and salt in a large bowl. Mix well.

  • Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Coat each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture, pressing to ensure an even layer.

Heat the Oil:

  • In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use enough oil to submerge the chicken halfway.

Fry the Chicken:

  • Fry each piece for about 12-15 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.

Rest and Serve:

  • Place the chicken on a wire rack to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
